Sandálias Speed Fusion Sport RMX preto MERRELL

I bought these a few months ago before my month long vacation in the Philippines, these sandals wore the skin off of toes and ankles. I have photos but this review won’t let me add them.

Terribly non-ergonomic design. I've bought many Merrell products and always relied on their terrific fit...No more. The heel strap is set too far back, and there's no way to adjust it. Even with the ankle strap cranked down, my foot is off the back of the sandal. I'll try to attach a pic. I will take a cue from another reviewer, and try to MacGyver a new heel strap with velcro. To be clear, these ARE the correct size for me.

I bought these for my summer in Guatemala, where I’m learning Spanish for work. They lasted 4 weeks and 2 days before the heel strap just fell out one morning. I use these for walking 15 minutes to and from school 5 days a week, and light use on the weekends to walk around; that’s it. I wager I’ve spent maybe 7-8 hours walking in these total, on simple flat terrain. Seriously disappointed. Merrells are all that I wear and I don’t know if I can rely on the brand the same way. The straps aren’t even secured properly; you can see the residual glue that was barely applied on the inside of the strap. I have pairs of M’s that have lasted almost a decade, but after this I’m not sure if that’s realistic anymore. Very comfy and adjustable while they lasted though, as usual.

I took them to the FedEx store and returned them as the adjustment is terrible and the straps are stitched together.

Pretty good design and construction but the elastic heel band is useless. With no way to tighten the heel, the fit is sloppy and squishy. My foot is too far to the rear with no way to bring it forward. Because I have limited options in a size 15 and these are good otherwise, I'm going to remove the elastic band and replace it with an adjustable velcro band. I hope you ditch the elastic in the next model run and stick with adjustable straps throughout.

These, like most Merrell sandals I have owned, are comfortable and durable. My only complaint is that the velcro strap is too long.
